STOLTZ STANDOFF! World Champion triathlete Conrad Stoltz encountered a coiled obstacle in his path at the Avia Snow Valley Xterra Triathlon. Hailing from South Africa, this was not an obstacle with which he wanted to tangle!

RIDE IN THE ROCKS! Mitsubishi's first annual Ride In The Rocks drew some 125 cyclists, benefiting Lucerne Valley High School. Big Bear's Steven Fogt had the top time in the tough 22-mile course.

BIG BEAR FIRST! Upwards of 2,500 ran and cycled in the inaugural Big Bear Marathon, at 7,200 feet! Romauldo Sanchez, the Frontman from Mexico, won the event. Spring Valley Lake's Darrel Courtney organized the marathon, sponsored by Avia.
